Job Description

Duties and responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain domestic, commercial and industrial plumbing systems and accessories.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, plans, and specifications to determine the design/layout of the plumbing system, water supply network, and waste and drainage systems.
• Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and wall and floor fittings using measuring tools, such as levels and plumb bobs.
• Cut and bore holes in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread and connect pipes using hand and power tools or machines, such as pipe cutters, benders, and threading machines.
• Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment, according to the specifications and requirements of the plumbing system.
• Check pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges and other specialized testing equipment.
• Troubleshoot plumbing system problems and identify appropriate solutions.
• Support the growth and development of company culture
• Work alone or in a groups
• Teach apprentices
• mechanical rooms/boiler work would a bonus
• Performs other duties as required

Requirements:

• Minimum two years of working as a plumber
• Proof of Red Seal/ Journeyman
• Knowledge of Ferederal/ Provincial Building codes

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10-12 hours a day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures
• Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kg
