Reporting to the site superintendent, our Master Electrician will have a strong balance of leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality to ensure all electrical work is completed in compliance with project specifications, timelines, safety regulations and company policies. Effective communication with supervisors and team members is essential to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency. Your key duties will include:
Provide leadership support, supervision and coordination of day-to-day activities of the Electrical crew.
Assist in hiring, training, and assigning employees, crew, and subcontractors, providing coaching, counselling, and discipline if necessary to achieve high performance and quality.
Properly and safely install, replace and repair electrical systems, lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels, including energy-efficient systems
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations, including in-slab installations.
Pull wire through conduits and holes in walls and floors.
Splice, join, and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits.
Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment.
Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of the system following installation, replacement, or repair.
Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty components.
Connect electrical power to audio and visual communication equipment, signaling devices, and heating and cooling systems.
Plan and execute electrical installations, including EMT and conduit work.
Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
Support the growth and development of company culture.
Perform other duties as required.
