Job Description


Position Overview: Construction Manager
The Construction Manager plays a key role in overseeing the successful execution of construction projects, focusing on schedule, cost, quality, stakeholder satisfaction, and design integrity. This role requires close collaboration with in-house teams, field personnel, and subcontractors, as well as excellent client relationship management to ensure the successful delivery of each project.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget Management: Ensure project budgets are met and target net margins are achieved or exceeded.
  • Scheduling: Develop, monitor, and report on detailed construction schedules to meet or exceed project milestones. Prepare weekly updates and a comprehensive Monthly Report.
  • Quality Assurance: Deliver projects that meet or exceed design and client expectations for quality, fit, and finish.
  • Leadership: Provide leadership, coaching, and motivation to project teams, including superintendents, estimators, and subcontractors, to achieve project objectives.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety practices on-site, ensuring compliance with all regulations and maintaining a safe environment for employees, subcontractors, and the community.
  • Project Administration: Lead the bid process, ensure bid accountability, and resolve contractual issues and deficiencies within 30 days post-occupancy.
  • Project Accounting: Prepare monthly billings, progress claims, and interpret Management Control Reports and cost forecasts to drive informed actions.
  • Client Management: Maintain high client satisfaction through proactive communication, offering service recommendations tailored to client business needs.
Experience:
  • 5-10 years of experience with a design-builder, general contractor, subcontractor, or ownerxe2x80x99s representative.
  • Experience in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Site experience as a Project Coordinator or Site Superintendent for at least one project cycle.
Educational Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Architecture.
  • Working toward or holding a designation in Engineering, Project Management, or Architecture.
  • Gold Seal Intern or Certified; PQS designation, trade certification, or business degree is an asset.
Special Conditions:
  • Frequent travel to local job sites, with occasional out-of-town site visits as required
