Role Overview

This position carries a high level of accountability and responsibility for every aspect of successful project execution and delivery. The Construction Manager is expected to ensure that all projects are completed safely, within budget, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. A fundamental requirement for this role is a strong respect for people, combined with the ability to lead the implementation of measurable lean practices. Candidates must have a proven track record of meeting project conditions of satisfaction, demonstrating their capability to achieve client and organizational objectives effectively.



Key Responsibilities:

Lead construction projects from planning to completion, meeting deadlines, budgets, and specifications. Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and milestones. Oversee contracts, negotiate terms/change orders, and uphold quality and risk standards. Negotiate business services and union agreements where applicable. Prepare and present regular reports for clients, stakeholders, and internal teams. Manage procurement and material deliveries and ensure timely delivery. Recruit and supervise subcontractors and staff (tradespeople, and construction team).

Requirements




Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field; master's or equivalent experience preferred. 7-10 years in progressive experience in construction with leadership role. Convenience store/gas station project experience is an asset. Skilled in any project software tools, MS Project, Sage 100 Construction, CAD, and Procore. P. Eng or Red Seal certification is an asset. Driver's License Class 5
