SNC-Lavalin is in search of a Construction Manager - Heavy Civil to join a transformative transit infrastructure project in Calgary.

The Green Line LRT (light rail transit) Project is the largest infrastructure investment in Calgary\xe2\x80\x99s history. It comes with $5.5 billion in commitments from the Government of Canada, Government of Alberta and The City of Calgary. The Green Line LRT is designed to be both a transit system and a platform for future city building opportunities. It encourages redevelopment and investment in Calgary businesses and communities. At 18-kms, Phase 1 will create 20,000 jobs, $2.2B in long-term city-shaping benefits and more than $6B in property value uplift by 2040.

You will be embedded within the client office team environment, and as such you are required to be in downtown Calgary, for the full working week

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for and expected to:

• Lead a team of construction professionals in a senior management role.
• Lead constructability analyses.
• Provide field execution leadership during various phases of the project.
• Manage and/or coordinate company personnel and resources for the project(s).
• Assist with preconstruction efforts.
• Manage all aspects of project from inception.
• Prepare and execute project executive planning for all client\xe2\x80\x99s teams.
• Review trade contracts and bid packages, and oversee procurement process.
• Oversee performance of project including, project status, schedule, cost control, and change management systems.
• Maintain relationships with internal partners, designers and consultants and the GC team.
• Review inspection and test data for compliance with specifications and company standards.
• Develop and maintain site logistics plan, in coordination with GC and Consultant team.
• Set up QAQC procedures and conduct quality inspections.
• Demonstrate commitment to an injury-free environment through own actions, mentoring others, and enforcing IFE program on projects.

What will you contribute?

• A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or diploma from a recognized university, college or technical institute in engineering, construction management, or comparable specialty.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction management roles with five years of experience in a senior role for the main contractor on projects

$1B and a minimum of three years of light rail transit experience (strongly preferred). * Prior experience working as superintendent earlier in the career required.

• A minimum three years of heavy civil experience on projects

$1B required. * Combination of contractor side and owner side experience an asset.

• Construction QA/QC.
• Member of a Professional Institute preferred.
• Strong project management skills.
• Issue identification and resolution management.
• Technical writing skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Visio, MS Project).
