Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Construction Manager to oversee a residential construction project from an initial phase to completion. This role is ideal for someone with technical know-how in construction. They must understand how all forms of a construction site come together and prioritize several items at the same time.

You'll be the key contact between contractors, engineers, architects, city inspectors, and ownership. The ideal candidate must be comfortable discussing code compliance with city officials. They must also hold contractors accountable to timelines and quality standards. Strong communication skills are a must -- it is critical to maintain proper relationships with different placements of people in the project and communicate clearly while keeping a focus on mind.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise subcontractors and trades, ensuring quality standards and deadlines are met. Oversee day-to-day construction site operations, ensuring work is progressing on schedule and according to plan. Communicate with city officials and inspectors, ensuring compliance with local regulations. Identify problems and proactively identify solutions to keep the project moving forward. Maintain daily logs and provide regular project updates to stakeholders. Ensure safety standards are enforced on site.
Qualifications

Extensive hands-on construction experience with a understanding of how buildings go together -- from foundation to finishes. Communication and organizational skills to lead teams and make decisions. Able to communicate effectively with inspectors, contractors, architects, and clients. Ability to be firm when needed, and understanding when required (whether dealing intra company or with neighboring sites or third parties) Knowledge of building codes, permit processes, and safety regulations. Capable of reading and interpreting blueprints, construction drawings, and engineering documents. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
