Gator Construction Group Inc. is a fast-growing general contracting company specializing in concrete infrastructure and restoration, as well as turnkey building projects. We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team in New Builds Division in Calgary.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of construction site management, including subcontractor coordination, schedule oversight, and a strong commitment to site safety. Experience in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications is essential. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry is required.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee the activities of all subcontractors to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project plans.
Plan, organize, and evaluate daily construction operations, resolving issues to maintain productivity.
Select, negotiate with, and manage trade subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise field staff as needed.
Prepare and submit construction project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts.
Develop construction schedules, set milestones, and monitor progress to ensure on-time project delivery.
Read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
Establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control.
Develop and manage quality control programs and risk management plans to ensure compliance and minimize project risks.
Oversee the analysis of data and project information to support effective decision-making.
Prepare and present comprehensive project reports for stakeholders and management.
Enforce workplace health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with site protocols, regulations, and industry best practices.
Conduct or oversee safety inspections and address any hazards or violations promptly.
Liaise with inspectors, regulatory agencies, architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure project continuity and compliance.
Oversee procurement of materials, tools, and equipment, coordinating delivery schedules and verifying order accuracy.
Maintain clear communication with clients and stakeholders to report progress, address concerns, and manage expectations.
Identify project risks and operational challenges, developing solutions to keep work on schedule and within scope.
Ensure proper site documentation, record-keeping, and close-out reporting for all phases of the project.
