Construction Labourer

Position Description: Clark Builders is hiring Construction Labourers in Yellowknife to assist with various projects. This role will be responsible for preparing and cleaning up construction sites, moving materials and equipment, performing demolition, assisting carpenters, erecting formwork, cutting material with hand and power tools, excavation and compaction activities.

Reporting to: Foreman or Superintendent

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas
• Erect/install and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required at construction sites
• Place and vibrate concrete
• Assist tradespersons such as carpenters and cement finishers in construction activities
• Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel
• Assist demolishing buildings using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean, and pile salvaged materials
• Operate jack hammers and tampers as directed
• Pump water
• Maintaining a clean construction site
• Maintain organization of storage containers
• Adhere to Clark Builders\xe2\x80\x99 policies and procedures
• Additional duties as required

Skills & Knowledge:

• Ability work in safety sensitive environment and in all weather conditions
• The ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
• Enjoy working in a team environment

Qualifications:

• Experience working in commercial construction is an asset
• Valid ESC Fall Protection, CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 is preferred
