Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Construction Labourer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist skilled tradespersons and perform labouring activities at construction sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Loading and Unloading: Transporting construction materials to work areas.
Erecting and Dismantling: Setting up and taking down concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
Assisting Tradespersons: Helping carpenters, bricklayers, cement finishers, roofers, and glaziers in their tasks.
Operating Equipment: Using pneumatic hammers, vibrators, tampers, and other machinery.
Site Preparation: Cleaning up construction sites, removing rubble and debris, and ensuring safety.
Requirements:
Experience: Prior experience in construction or a related field.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as First Aid, CPR, WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System), or fall protection.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with specific tools or machinery (e.g., forklift operation, power tools).
Safety Training: Knowledge of construction safety practices and protocols.
Driver's License: Valid driver's license, particularly for roles that require transportation of materials or site visits.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor issues on-site.
Teamwork and Collaboration: Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
Attention to Detail: Precision in following instructions and completing tasks.
Adaptability: Ability to handle changing priorities and multitask effectively.
Physical Fitness: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
