Construction Handyman/Laborer/Service Technician

Company Overview:

We are an Oakville-based custom home builder and large-scale renovator, currently seeking a full-time Construction Handyman/Laborer/Service Technician. The ideal candidate will be responsible for on-site work, supporting new home construction and renovation projects, and ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standards.

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced construction laborer with a minimum of 5 years in residential construction. The ideal candidate should have a a very good understanding of residential building practices and the ability to carry out various tasks, including general labor, maintenance, and service work, efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform a wide range of construction tasks including demolition, framing, drywall installation, and general labor duties. using variety of construction tools effectively (e.g., drills, saws, reciprocating saws, screw & nail guns, etc) and correctly. Conduct visual site inspections daily on multiple sites, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner. Maintain a clean and organized construction site. Ensure all tasks are completed to high standards of quality and safety. Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used. Communicate effectively with any team members and project managers to ensure completion of work.

Transportation & Tools:

A company-provided service truck

MAY be

provided with tools will be assigned to the successful candidate. The candidate must have an excellent driving record with no active major traffic violations and be fully insurable. Vehicle use is included for commuting to and from the job sites.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Proven experience as a Handyman or in a similar role in residential construction (minimum 5 years). Strong knowledge of basic repair and maintenance tasks. Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively. Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy objects. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks. Must possess steel-toe footwear and have completed Fall Protection training. Class G driver's license (preferred).

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary: $25 to $35 per hour, based on experience. Yearly salary is available based on experience. Full-time, permanent position. Company-provided service vehicle (if applicable). Benefits include vehicle usage to and from home. 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday (with weekends as needed).
