Job Description

Reporting to the foreman, our glazier must ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies. They will follow project specifications and timelines, working efficiently to meet deadlines. Effective communication with supervisors and team members is essential to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.
Your Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Measure, cut, prepare, and install glass, aluminum, and metal framing systems for commercial windows, curtain walls, storefronts, and partitions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to determine layout, dimensions, and material requirements.
  • Prepare layouts using lasers, levels, and other measuring tools to ensure accuracy.
  • Install structural aluminum framing, mullions, anchors, and hardware systems.
  • Fit, secure, and seal glass panes, insulated glass units (IGUs), and glazing panels.
  • Operate hand and power tools, lifts, scaffolding, and glass handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Inspect completed installations to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Support the growth and development of company culture and professionally represent Northland Properties.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial glazing or glass installation experience.
  • MUST have valid Working at Heights certification.
  • MUST have valid Elevated Work Platform (EWP) training.
  • Familiarity with power tools, laser levels, and safe handling of glass and aluminum systems.
  • Strong understanding of blueprints, layouts, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of Federal/Provincial building codes and site safety requirements.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10-12 hours/day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms.
  • Must be able to climb scaffolding and work at heights.
  • Must be able to safely operate glass handling equipment.
