Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for. This role requires strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of construction processes, materials, and pricing strategies. The Construction Estimator will play a crucial role in project planning and budgeting, contributing to the overall success of our construction endeavors.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for

residential construction projects

including single-family homes, townhomes, and site work. Review architectural and engineering drawings to perform quantity take-offs for materials, labour, and equipment. Evaluate and compare subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing and scope alignment. Work closely with the

project management, design, and procurement teams

to refine budgets and ensure alignment with project goals. Develop and maintain an up-to-date

database of historical costs

and vendor pricing. Identify

cost-saving opportunities

and suggest value-engineering alternatives. Prepare tender documents, bid packages, and assist in the

contract award process

. Support the preparation of change orders and budget adjustments during construction.

Qualifications & Skills

Diploma or degree in

Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying

, or a related field.

3+ years of experience

in estimating for

residential construction

(low-rise, townhomes, or custom homes). Proficiency with estimating and take-off software (e.g.,

Bluebeam, PlanSwift, BuilderTREND

, or similar). Strong understanding of

construction materials, residential building codes, and trade scopes

. Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet tight deadlines. Strong communication and negotiation abilities when working with trades and suppliers.

Pay: $51,222.23-$70,000.00 per year
