Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates, analyzing project plans, and collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure successful project execution. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, utilizing your expertise in pricing, negotiation, and project management to contribute to the company's growth and success.

Duties

Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents using tools such as Bluebeam. Develop detailed cost estimates for various construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor quotes. Utilize HeavyBid or similar estimating software to prepare comprehensive bids. Conduct market research to determine current pricing trends for materials and labor. Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing information. Perform risk analysis and value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality. Prepare and present bid proposals to clients, including negotiation of terms and pricing. Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and project documentation for future reference.

Requirements

Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and terminology. Proficiency in Bluebeam for plan review and markup. Experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly preferred. Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with clients and subcontractors. Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple bids simultaneously. Knowledge of current market pricing for construction materials and labor costs. Ability to analyze complex plans and specifications accurately. Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, and vendors. A background in construction or related field is required; relevant certifications are a plus. This position is integral to our project's success by ensuring accurate cost projections and fostering strong client relationships through effective negotiation and project management skills.
