Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs and preparing comprehensive estimates for various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent negotiation skills, and proficiency in estimating software. The Construction Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on schedule.

Compensation can be negotiated to daily or per project rates.

Responsibilities

Build detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and site visits. Price materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs to develop accurate project budgets. Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for estimates. Utilize construction estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to streamline the estimating process. Review and analyze bid documents to identify potential risks and opportunities. Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and project changes for future reference. Provide support during the bidding process by answering questions from contractors and clients.

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is preferred. Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost assessments. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. Effective project management skills to oversee multiple estimates simultaneously. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is a plus but not required.

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week

Schedule:

Monday to Friday Weekends as needed
