Tasks

Prepare production and other reports Recommend measures to improve productivity Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality Supervise workers and projects Co-ordinate and schedule activities Train or arrange for training Prepare bids Estimate costs and materials Read blueprints and electrical schematics Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units Troubleshoot and isolate faults Test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults integrity of circuits Supervise other workers Splice, join and connect wires Renovate electrical systems in residential and commercial structures Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications Project management Keep maintenance reports and documentation Instruct apprentices Install power generation, stand-by power generation and power conditioning systems Install surface mount and/or overhead cables Install underground wiring and cables Design and construct single-phase service for single or multimeter installations Professionalism in customer service Connect power to audio and visual equipment Ground and bond electrical equipment, systems and structures including swimming pools and hot tubs Commission systems and components Replace and repair electrical controls and panel boxes Install electrical controls and panel boxes
