Full-Time Delivery Driver



Overview of Job Requirements:

Under the Direction of the Purchasing Manager

Experience and ability to drive a truck and trailer or Sprinter van and various size trailers. Backing up and handling corners safely, handle tight spaces with vehicle and trailers. Organizing and managing inventory, storage and transportation schedule. Prioritizing and planning your daily workload and communication with Purchasing Manager and the Senior Delivery Driver. Perform pre-trip inspections Determine site requirements for products via Teams Communicate with site staff, shop staff about expected time of delivery Load, unload and transport construction materials, cabinetry and equipment to and from sites as needed Complete and maintain required paperwork including daily travel logs, inspection logs, deliver receipts, vehicle inspections, working hours, and repair status. Input daily timesheets to payroll. Report any equipment issues, unsafe conditions, vehicle concerns right away Assist with setting up and transferring temporary structures, such as scaffolding, safety fencing Clean up worksites of building materials Plan garbage routes as needed Ensure material is properly protected from outdoor elements and transported with zero damage Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to vehicles immediately Report any incidents immediately Attendance of mandatory staff meetings, when scheduled Completion of annual training, when scheduled Adherence to Clay's Employee Handbook & policies, Occupational Health & Safety Act and all traffic laws and regulations. Organization and restocking of job site safety bins as needed and organization of trailer & tools Additional tasks, as needed, based on operational needs

Knowledge, Skills and Physical Demands

Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills Responsible and Reliable Punctual Capability to do physical labour including standing for long periods of time, driving for long periods of time, walking for long periods of time, heavy lifting, ability to bend and twist body, repetitive movements, kneel, stoop, crouch or crawl, ability to work at heights, ability to climb stairs. Always communicate with homeowners in a patient and friendly manner, always representing Clay's interests and values Maintaining a good rapport and open communication between yourself and the Clay Management Team and fellow team members Commitment to health and safety rules and practices Good Communication Skills Knowledge of types of tools & equipment used on a regular basis in the shop and on sites Ability to do basic tool maintenance and know when annual servicing is needed Label all tools and material deliveries appropriately Log all tool maintenance, inspect all equipment when picked up from a job site Ability to use Teams, Smartsheet and can adapt to other software apps Manual labour tasks as needed; examples including but not limited to: lawn mowing, garden maintenance, digging, stacking up goods, demo work, shop organization, heavy lifting of assorted building supplies such as lumber, drywall, bricks, tiles, bags of concrete. Ability to conduct repetitive heavy lifting up to 80lbs.

Position: Full-Time Employment

Compensation: $20 - $23/ Hour, benefits, boot reimbursement

Education: Completion of high school OSSD

Credentials: Ontario Driver's license (G2 or full G license required)

Ontario driver's abstract report

Criminal record check, issued within six (6) months of date of hire

Working at Heights certification is an asset

Standard First Aid & CPR certification is an asset

Experience: 2+ years delivery driver/ mover experience

Trade - specific experience within construction is an asset
