We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive

Construction Coordinator

to join our growing team. Our portfolio represents approximately $200M in annual revenue across multiple Western Canadian markets. In this role, you will support both the Construction and Pre-Construction teams based on seasonal workload demands, reporting directly to the Senior Director, Construction. You will play a key role in driving project excellence, supporting team performance, and ensuring operational consistency across our projects. This role has the potential to grow into a full-time Project Management position, depending on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities



Estimating & Pre-Construction Support



Assist in the creation and issuance of RFP packages. Support submission and scoping reviews. Create jobs in Buildertrend and assist with purchase order setup. Prepare and manage contracts.

Project & Document Coordination



Maintain and manage the Document Management System, including configuration control. Prepare, record, and distribute weekly/biweekly site meeting minutes. Support QA/QC processes on active projects.

Additional Pre-Construction Activities



Assist with design RFPs. Track and manage program change backlogs. Prepare and follow up on building permit submissions.

Background & Qualifications



1-3 years of relevant construction administration experience. A diploma or certificate in Construction Management, Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and construction experience will also be considered. Exceptional accuracy in processing and managing data. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Foundational understanding of commercial and/or multi-family construction. Strong initiative and willingness to learn and improve processes. Experience with Buildertrend is an asset. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (i.e. Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen).

Compensation Package:



Bene?ts: Dental and medical bene?ts package. 80% of the cost is covered by Avana. Option for employees to purchase disability and life insurance. Pension Plan: The Pension Plan will commence at the start of your second year of employment.2% of salary matched in year two, 3% of salary matched in year three, 4% of salary matched in year 4 and 5% of salary matched in year 5. Vacation Entitlement: 20 business days per year. Must be accumulated prior to taking them. Annual Bonus: Opportunity to earn up to 10% of salary as an annual bonus. Parental Leave: Once an employee has worked a full year (12 months) at Avana, they are eligible for four (4) months of salary top-up to $15,000, with ongoing benefits based on the terms stated above. Pension matching will not apply for the duration of the period of leave. If an employee provides their resignation within 24 months of the paternal leave return date, the total amount of the salary top-up will be repaid to Avana. Probation Period: The probation period is 90 days from the start date. Criminal Record Checks and Driver's Abstracts are required for all Avana employees prior to being hired. This is to be obtained at your expense and will not be reimbursed by the Employer.
