Position and Responsibilities
As a key member of the projects and construction team, you will be responsible for managing the construction phase of various projects at the Port Hope site and will lead the development and execution of a Cameco construction management process.
Key responsibilities include ensuring contractors are working in compliance with the Canada Labour code, Ontario Regulation Construction Projects and monitoring and managing issues related to contactor safety, environment, quality and security. In addition, you will assist with project cost control by ensuring work performed complies with the requirements of the contract and that construction documentation and all as-built information is submitted for updates in a timely manner. Working closely with the project managers and other site clients, you will also resolve issues regarding project requests and changes.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in managing and quality control of construction projects and contractors or equivalent experience
- Strong leadership skills
- Understanding and application of best practices in the safe execution of project work on a multi-faceted site
- Diploma in engineering technology or valid Ontario provincial certificate of qualification as a journeyperson in a skilled trade
- Experience with commissioning and debugging process equipment, site utilities, HVAC systems, and civil and structural modifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Clear background check
