Position Summary
The Construction Coordinator assists in the planning, execution, and completion of renovations and new store openings. Reporting to the Manager of Construction Operations, this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple aspects of construction projects effectively and professionally.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Project Oversight:
Assist the Manager of Construction Operations in overseeing construction projects from initial planning to completion.
Maintain project schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget.
Coordinate communication between landlords, contractors, franchisees, and vendors.
Track work schedules and confirm completion prior to the possession of units.
Site Handover Management:
Take possession of leased sites from landlords at the project's possession stage.
Site Surveys and Deficiency Identification:
Conduct detailed site surveys to identify and document landlord-related deficiencies.
Communicate and follow up on deficiencies to ensure timely resolution.
Documentation and Reporting:
Assist with the documentation and reporting of project progress, including uploading reports to Microsoft Teams.
Organize site visits and confirm layouts, measurements, and compliance with base building drawings.
Deficiency Management:
Assist in tracking and managing construction deficiencies, working with contractors to ensure timely resolution.
Construction Coordination:
Collaborate with contractors and vendors during the construction phase to ensure project timelines, quality standards, and budgets are met.
Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Support the scheduling of final walk-throughs and construction close-out procedures.
General Construction Duties:
Review construction plans and schedules to ensure they align with project goals.
Monitor on-site activities to confirm compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are delivered and managed effectively on-site.
Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve on-site challenges and unforeseen issues.

Prioritize tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail across projects.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company standards
Minimum Requirements
1-3 years of experience in a construction management role.
Understanding of permit sets and construction documentation.
Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical drawings.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
Positive attitude with a collaborative mindset to contribute to the Development team.
Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive long distances to reach project sites.
Willingness to travel across Canada for site visits, project coordination and stakeholder engagement.
Working Conditions
Full-time position with early morning, weekend, and holiday availability required.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment while meeting deadlines.
