About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, this role will work in our Community Power division to deliver our construction and housing service offerings. These services cover a wide range of projects such as housing condition assessments, asset management, cost estimating, renovation planning, and construction project management. These projects take place across BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan and often in remote or isolated communities.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to embrace a diverse range of responsibilities from home assessments to more complex responsibilities like full-scale construction management. You are a natural leader who enjoys taking ownership of work in a dynamic and autonomous setting. You approach your work with empathy and patience, recognizing that many of our customers need mentorship and guidance as they navigate complex housing challenges. Your passion for housing improvement drives you to support communities with understanding, respect, and a genuine commitment to helping them succeed.
This is a fully remote, permanent full-time position with regular travel required throughout BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. You must be able to be away from home for 5-10 days at a time, up to twice a month.
Core Accountabilities

  • Assess and record the condition of all standard housing components such as foundations, windows and doors, roofs, attics, plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems, etc.
  • Provide detailed recommendations on home maintenance needs and repairs to support housing asset management planning at a community level.
  • Estimate the cost of recommended housing component repairs and replacements.
  • Collaborate with customers' housing management staff to create customized housing improvement strategies.
  • Support the ongoing development of Community Power's construction services materials including educational content and construction project templates.
  • Provide mentorship to customers' housing management staff to build capacity and expertise as it relates to housing improvement.
  • Act as the customer's advocate with subcontractors and consultants on housing improvement projects.
  • Work with Community Power's growth team to define new construction and housing service offerings and refine existing offerings.
Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Construction Management, relevant trade, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • A thorough understanding of residential construction best practices and building science principles is required.
  • 2-3 years of direct experience in residential construction or construction management is required.
  • Advanced technical skills in MS Excel and the ability to quickly learn how to use a variety of software is required.
  • Having Red Seal, Building Inspector or Project Management certification is an asset.
  • Experience with client management and customer service is an asset.
  • Must have a valid Class 5-passenger vehicle licence.
