passionate, experienced, and dedicated Congregational Life Pastor
to lead and strengthen our ministries. This individual will play a vital role in cultivating community, developing leaders, and supporting the overall health and discipleship of the congregation.
The ideal candidate will have a strong pastoral background, intercultural awareness, and a heart for fostering authentic Christian community. A Master of Divinity is preferred, along with a minimum of five years of full-time pastoral experience.
The key responsibilities of the Congregational Life Pastor include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Fostering Community & Connection
Develop and oversee systems to help visitors connect with the church
Oversee adult lifegroups and discipleship ministries while developing discipleship resources that align with the church's vision and mission
Lead freedom session groups
Support and lead prayer ministries within the church
Develop initiatives and tools to support, engage, and track our online congregant community
2. Providing Pastoral Care
Provide pastoral care, counseling, and prayer for individuals and families
Assist with preaching, teaching, and worship planning as needed
Participate actively in staff meetings, retreats, and church-wide planning sessions
Offer home visits to families needing spiritual support, blessings, or pastoral care
Serve as a key member of the pastoral team, contributing to the overall vision and direction of the church
3. Supporting Volunteer Engagement
Partner with ministry leaders to identify, equip, and celebrate volunteers
Help congregants discover and use their spiritual gifts in service to the church and community
Develop strategies to sustain and encourage a healthy volunteer culture
Maintain and promote a sustainable volunteer recruitment system
4. Coordinating Family & Congregational Ministries
Lead and coordinate annual parenting courses, including topics related to complex needs, and provide faith journey events
Provide parental resources for faith formation at home
Lead Baptismal classes
Officiate child dedications and plan family-oriented worship services
Coordinate church-wide events, such as Family Day Festival, Family Camp, Summer Outreach, Family Events, and Church Picnics
Provide pastoral support to the GriefShare ministry
Oversee marriage ministries, including: Grace Marriage Ministry, Marriage Matters quarterly emails, premarital counseling, and marriage enrichment opportunities
5. Oversee Staff in a Supervisory Role
Provide direct oversight to assigned staff and their corresponding ministries
Conduct annual performance reviews
Meet assigned staff on a bimonthly basis to discuss goals and Annual Ministry Plan progress
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies
Master of Divinity Preferred
Minimum five years of experience in full-time pastoral ministry
Familiarity with church environments or nonprofit structures
Experience in intercultural intergenerational environments
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Work Structure & Expectations:
The Congregational Life Pastor will report directly to the Lead Pastor
The Congregational Life Pastor will collaborate closely with other pastoral and administrative staff
Terms of Employment:
Permanent, 40 hours per week
