About the Role
Work in small, agile project teams to deliver quality product installations worldwide. Perform as a developer within the SDLC by configuring the product for clients primarily using XML and Groovy. Interact with a wide variety of people and roles including clients, business analysts, developers, testers and project managers to configure and maintain registry applications as outlined in technical design and functional specification documents.
What will you be doing
Configuration and Development


  • Configure applications from the Verne product suite using frameworks, scripts, and tools specified by Foster Moore and as outlined in Foster Moore development standards.

  • Develop integration code for Verne to interface with third-party systems

  • Develop complex business rules and enhance the product using JVM-based languages or JavaScript-based frameworks

  • Ensure delivery of business value by closely working with others following our Scrum process

  • Offer and or promote alternative technical solutions to business problems

  • Provide accurate estimates for configuration work to the team

  • Produce supporting documentation necessary to ensure delivery or operation of the software

Testing

  • Generate integration tests to test functional aspects of the application

  • Ensure that functional software executes in accordance with internal quality levels

  • Support and Continuous Improvement

  • Engage in our Agile process following Scrum and promote positive change and improvements at every opportunity

  • Provide general support and specific incident analysis and resolution as required

  • Provide input into production support issues as requested by the Production Support Team

Organization

  • Positively and actively support effective communication, encourage and provide constructive feedback

  • Complete administrative tasks in an accurate and timely manner

  • Comply with safe working practices of self and others in accordance with Health and Safety Procedures

  • Support Foster Moore’s overall organizational vision, values, and culture

About You

  • At least 3 years experience in software development or software configuration role

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar discipline

  • Solid experience in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Groovy, C#, Php, or Python

  • Experienced in writing automated tests for all deliverables (unit, integration, end-to-end) and knowledge of testing frameworks such as Junit, Gherkin/Cucumber, Selenium, Cypress, Karate

  • Experience in enterprise-level web applications preferred

  • Some experience in web service development - REST and/or SOAP

  • Exposure to several of the following ideal: Vue.js, JavaScript, Document DB (e.g. Mongo), Elastic search, Velocity templates, Gherkin/Cucumber, Selenium, Git, Less/CSS, Jenkins, Pipeline, AWS, Docker

  • Experience working within an agile framework (such as Scrum) with teams of business analysts, testers and developers working iteratively across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Knowledge of CI/CD concepts – CI pipelines, DevOps, short-feedback loops

  • Relevant experience with all aspects of SDLC including source control, unit and integration testing, PR reviews, continuous integration tools and defect tracking software (e.g. JIRA or TFS)
