Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
:
The Conductor performs the following tasks:
Understand and comply with all rules, regulations, safety procedures and standards from the company and several government agencies, including Transport Canada. Safely manage, control, and communicate the movements of the train and railcars using radio and by written authorization. In all weather conditions, manually operate track switches, apply and release handbrakes, connect hoses, and perform safety inspections. Read, interpret, and execute work lists. Prepare required daily reports, both manually and/or electronically. Successfully perform job briefings before and during duty and interact effectively with the railway authorities. Other related tasks.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a high school diploma. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Experience as a railway conductor is an asset. Must be prepared to work in adverse weather conditions. During the 14-day work cycle, must be prepared to work on call on a 24-hour basis.
