JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Concurrent Disorders Clinicians (CDC) employ a strengths-based approach to supporting individuals with addictions and mental health. You are part of a collaborative team that supports people who use substances through assessment, support and transition plans, referrals, and therapeutic interventions. Ww are seeking a clinician to engage in individual and group counselling using evidence-informed modalities. You make a difference!
As a Concurrent Disorders Clinician, you will:
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support to clients
Use cognitive behavioural interventions, motivational interviewing skills, and other evidence-informed modalities
Teach skills such as problem-solving, anger management, emotion regulation, and coping strategies
Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure a coordinated approach to meeting client needs
Support a strengths-based service plan with clients based on a standardized, comprehensive assessment tool
Ensure a safe therapeutic environment for all clients accessing care, by supporting clients to follow program expectations
Document client care in our client data system and communicate issues effectively within the team
Hours of work
: 37.5-hours per week. Primarily Monday to Friday days, offering evening hours at least one day per week until 8 p.m.
Training
: Our Addictions and Mental Health department has a variety of programs that allow Concurrent Disorders Clinicians to grow their skills and there is initial comprehensive training related to all aspects of the role.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Annual Salary: Starting at $52,787 plus comprehensive benefits.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Have a college diploma in the Human or Social Services field, with a University Degree in a related Social Sciences preferred
Must have current registration with a professional governing body such as College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario or Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
Have a minimum of 2 years' combined education/experience in substance use, concurrent disorders and/or mental health clinical settings
Be proficient in MS Office and be familiar with databases
Be able to manage frequent exposure to vicarious traumatic stress
Access to reliable transportation, as some travel may be required
Please also note that the successful candidate will be required to provide a police vulnerable sector check as a condition of employment, however strong consideration is made to the type of offense
