Concrete Sawcutting Labourer

We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our concrete flooring crew as a

Concrete Sawcutting Labourer

. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing saw-cutting of slab-on-grade concrete in

commercial and industrial settings

, including warehousing floors, aprons, dolly pads, and large slab pours. This role requires proficiency in

both early-entry (soff-cut) and wet-cut techniques

in order to deliver high-quality, crack-managed finishes.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate saws and related equipment to perform precise cuts on slab-on-grade concrete using both

soff-cut (early-entry) and wet-cut methods

. Execute saw cuts for warehouse slabs, industrial floors, aprons, and dolly pads according to layout and schedule. Read and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and site markings to ensure accurate cut location and depth. Perform pre-start inspections and daily maintenance of saws and blades to ensure they're optimised for the correct concrete conditions (hardness, aggregate type, age). Coordinate with finishing crews and the placing team to ensure saw cuts are made at the optimal time (especially for early-entry cuts) to minimise random cracking. Maintain high standards of safety, clean work area, and organised job site practices.

Requirements:

1-2 years of hands-on experience in concrete sawcutting, including both

soff-cut (early-entry) and wet-cut methods

. Demonstrated ability to select and operate blades appropriate to the concrete age, aggregate composition, and saw type. Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand for extended periods and lift/handle equipment. Willingness to work overtime, travel between sites, and adapt to varying site conditions (dusty, noisy, fast-paced). Must have steel-toed safety boots. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. Willing to comply strictly with job-site safety procedures.

Work Setting:

Commercial and industrial slab-on-grade projects (warehouses, factories, logistics centres, etc.). Various job site locations.

Work Conditions & Physical Capabilities:

Fast-paced environment, heavy physical work, exposure to noise, dust, and outdoor conditions. Precision work under time-sensitive conditions, especially for early-entry cut timing.

Pay: $32.00-$43.00 per hour
