Overview:
The objective of the batcher position is to ensure that our Customers receive timely and appropriate
service from Lafarge RMX to fulfill and exceed our Customers\xe2\x80\x99 expectations in compliance with policies,
procedures and best practices. Batcher is responsible for controlling production of concrete produced in
the batch plant and ensuring timely deliveries of materials to the plant. Responsibilities: Health & Safety:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environment areas.
  • Ensure all aspects of their role are executed in a safe manner.
  • Document near misses to manager along with plant safety issues.
Operations:
  • Monitor batching process to ensure the accuracy of batch systems to produce a quality product.
  • Ensure that all loads are batched correctly and effectively, with a focus on production time and quality to ensure our customers\xe2\x80\x99 needs are met.
  • Assist in tracking and managing KPI goals. Promoting processes to show improvement.
  • Monitor plant maintenance requirement and complete documentation of maintenance records, daily/monthly reports and inspections.
  • Display high level of knowledge of mix designs, applications and derivations from the norm.
  • Work with QC to ensure necessary adjustments are made to reduce volume of rejected and/or adjusted loads.
  • Batch concrete at multiple locations while maintaining a high standard of work and product.

Inventory Management:

  • Complete end of day requirements, control and document inventory usages.
  • Month end inventory process.
  • Responsible for ordering raw materials based on production needs.

Plant Image:

  • Maintains the plant in accordance with standard guidelines for plant image.
  • Plant image includes housekeeping, parts storage, and equipment condition (cleanliness and appearance), entrance & property, and buildings.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work space.

Qualifications:
Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Civil Engineering Technologists diploma

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize and evaluate
  • Work well under pressure and have an ability to maintain composure in all situations and not become defensive or irritated
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills and the desire to seek solutions
