Gearbox Software est a la recherche d'un Concepteur.trice en chef technique en animation. Le role consiste principalement a gerer une equipe d'animateurs techniques, developper de nouveau systeme d'animation dans l'engin et supporter les outils deja en place. De travailler avec l'equipe d'animation pour ameliorer les pipelines, la planification du contenu et l'efficience general du travail.
Responsabilites :
Gerer une equipe d'animateurs techniques, fixer des objectifs pour l'equipe, fournir du feedback et accompagner leur developpement de carriere.
Travailler avec les responsables des departements code et de conception pour definir les parametres techniques specifiques a chaque projet afin de garantir un niveau de productivite optimal pour l'animation.
Encadrer les animateurs techniques de niveau intermediaire et junior en les aidant a ameliorer leurs competences techniques en animation, notamment a travers des formations et des ateliers.
Creer et maintenir les blueprint d'animation / state machine / data character.
Editer les blend d'animations.
Etablir, documente et designer des systemes pour faciliter l'animation.
Collaborer avec les designer et animateur pour maintenir les meilleurs pratiques et l'efficience.
Support de l'integration du contenu avec les autres departements, incluent les equipes Missions, Systems et Gameplay.
Prototyper et recherche des nouveaux systemes d'animation pour l'equipe d'animation et design.
Communiquer et travailler de pair avec les programmeurs gameplay et engin pour developper de nouveaux systemes de nouvelle generation.
Identifier les ameliorations potentielles et agir pour les realiser.
Qualifications :
Experience anterieure comme Gestionnaire
Familiarite avec les systemes d'animations retrouves dans les engins de jeu.
Familiarite avec les pipelines d'animations de la conception du mesh a l'integration des assets finaux.
Capacite a interagir et travailler avec des equipes connexes.
Habilite a developper des systemes de la conception a l'integration finale.
Une attitude positive et l'habilite a recevoir des retours constructifs sur la presentation et le game feel

Gearbox Software is looking for a Lead Technical Design Animator with a passion for pushing character animation fidelity in games to new levels. This role primarily focuses managing a team of Technical Animators, developing new animation features in-engine and providing ongoing support for current tech and working to create improved pipeline and planning practices with animation to improve overall content efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Manage a team of Technical Animators, setting goals for the team, providing feedback and support their career development.
Work with code and design department leads to establish specific technical parameters for each project to ensure the highest level of productivity for animation
Mentor mid-level and junior animators in improving their technical animation skills through providing classes and workshops
Create & maintain animation blueprints / state machines / character data
Tune blending for gameplay animations.
Break-down, and document, design features into easy to animate content.
Work with Designers and Animators to maintain/monitor best practices and optimal workflows.
Support animation content implementation with other departments including Missions, Systems, and Gameplay teams.
Research & prototype new animation systems for use by Animation and Design teams.
Communicate and work closely with Gameplay and Engine Programmers to develop new features needed to deliver highly polished, sophisticated presentations.
Document system functionality and breakdowns for use by future employees or other teams.
Identify potential pipeline improvements and act to improve them.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a manager
Familiarity with animation systems including blending, warping, layering, synched choreography, and state machines.
Needs to be familiar with animation pipelines from mesh to implementation of final assets.
Able to collaborate and work well with teams from various disciplines.
Ability to own a feature from pitch and documentation to prototype and final implementation.
A positive attitude and an ability to receive and provide objective feedback on areas of game feel and presentation.
Bonus Points For:
Experience in Unreal Animation Systems
Programming Capability in Python, MEL, or C++
Experience in Maya and Motion Builder Animation Systems
Experience with mocap systems and software such as Vicon Blade
Strong balance of creative/visual aesthetics and technical skills.
