Job Description
Founded in 1979, Columbia International College (CIC) is the largest boarding high school in Canada. During our 45 years of history, parents from over 120 countries have placed their children in CIC' care.
CIC offers the Total Care Education System to support students to achieve their goal of getting into a post-secondary institution of their choice. Our Total Care Education provides services that can support international students to meet their Academic, Social, Emotional and Physical needs.
As a Tutor, you will work with students one-on-one to assist them in understanding and completing their high school course work and assignments outside of the classroom. This position will required to liaise with the students' teachers in order to understand the students' assignments, educational needs, and development.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work with students to provide academic support for their high school course work.
Communicate regularly with the Department Head on the progress of the students or any concerns.
Motivate students to work hard towards their own success.
Facilitate Drop-in Study Groups.
Qualifications:
An Undergraduate or Graduate degree in a related field of study.
Experience tutoring or teaching similar courses or material.
Experience working with adolescents and/or international youth.
Bilingual in Mandarin/English is an asset.
Hours of Work:
On-call
Flexibility with the hours is required
In person
Location may vary between Ainsliewood building and residences
