JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Computer Network Technician
Duty Station: British Columbia, Canada
Reports To: Sr. Field Technician Manager

Job Summary
A Computer Network Technician at Omnivir is a team player with effective interpersonal skills. They have a client centric focus, they take initiative, uses good judgement, and is well organized. They work with a high level of accuracy and a great attention to detail, while performing repetitive tasks.
An Omnivir Network Technician has excellent oral & written communication skills, along with an ability to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Our technicians must be available atleast 2-3 days per week, Monday - Friday. Technicians also commute to client sites, and therefore, personal reliable vehicle is a requirement.

Technicians must be available for work atleast 2-3 days during weekdays, not weekends nor weeknights.

Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment
Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software
Load computer tapes and disks and install software and printer paper and forms
Provide problem-solving services to network users
Perform routine network startup and shut down and maintain control records
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade Web-server hardware and software
Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet
