Finance and Administration branch within the Department of Advanced Education and Training is responsible for the central coordination of planning, budgeting, comptrollership, annual reporting, and other financial processes to support the department and other reporting entities.

Duties:
The Comptrollership Analyst provides support to the department by being a point of contact, resource, and subject matter expert in the areas of comptrollership and financial administration. The position reports to the Director of Comptrollership within the department. The Analyst assists department leadership with policy and legislation interpretation, variance reporting, maintain proper comptrollership functions within the department. The Analyst is responsible for aiding the department with fiscal responsibility and management.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Recognized accounting designation Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) (CA, CMA, CGA) or equivalent training and experience.
Experience applying General Accepted Accounting Principles, with an understanding of internal control concepts and accrual accounting practices.
Experience developing and monitoring processes and internal controls.
Experience interpreting and applying policies, statutes and legislation, and/or conducting audits and reviews to assess compliance, make recommendations and improve existing processes.
Excellent problem solving skills to research, analyze, and translate problems and proposals into advice and recommendations for senior management
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work in a deadline driven environment.
Excellent written communication skills.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Desired: Experience with SAP and PBFM or equivalent accounting/ERP software.
