Components Engineer-Onsite positionWe have a rewarding opportunity for a Components Engineer to join our world class manufacturing facility in Ottawa, ON!As a member of the Components Engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining the electronic and electromechanical components for designs by identifying, qualifying, detailing and releasing components. Additionally, you will work with a variety of functional groups in support of the design, procurement, assembly and sustainment of circuit card assemblies.Location: Ottawa, ONWe Take Care of Our PeoplePaid Time Off I RRSP with Employer Match I Health and Wellness Benefits I Learning and Development Opportunities I Competitive Pay I Referral Program I Recognition I I *Your Challenge:Source of Expertise in the area of Components EngineeringAssist design engineers in material selection & approval processCreate and maintain component materials using Agile PLM system throughout the entire component lifecycleInterface with component suppliers, brokers, distributors, and manufacturers to maintain relationships and facilitate technical knowledge exchangeGenerate specifications for custom component partsInitiate/Authorize component substitutions made via Engineering Change Order (ECO), Material Substitution Request (MSR) and Approved Manufacturers Parts List (AMPL) updatesMaintain component data related to hazardous materials, REACH and RoHS.Participate in design reviews for the purpose of material & component selection and standardizationProvide technical support in response to component obsolescence & availability issuesProvide guidance in support of broker parts use and counterfeit avoidance.Coordinate failure analysis and corrective action activities on component quality issuesSupport Reliability AnalysesActive role in identifying and isolating poor quality components during the production processWhat You Bring:Minimum 5 years industry experienceExperience supporting electronics design & manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of electronic and/or electro-mechanical component technology.Experience with Agile, SAP or another PLM/MRP systemExcellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.Strong analytical, organizational and reporting skillsCompletion of post-secondary education in Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering/Technology (or equivalent)Who We Are:At our world-class manufacturing and design facility in Ottawa, Ontario, we manufacture rugged products optimized for high-mix, high quality and small batch sizes typical of military requirements.
