ABB Smart Buildings digitally transforms commercial, industrial and residential buildings for the highest comfort, efficiency, safety and security - enhancing quality of life in buildings of the future through safe, smart and sustainable electrification solutions, services and products. Working in the procurement and logistics team in our Smart Buildings, Emergency Lighting factory in Dorval, Quebec, Canada, you will lead the lifecycle management activities of electronic components to make sure it meets ABB's expectations for quality, availability and performance. In close collaboration with our product and technology design, operations, supply chain management teams as well as manufacturers, you will feed our teams with market intelligence and steer the approved parts list to support local, regional and global orientations and objectives. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will assist in the implementation, maintenance and compliance of our list of approved components, applying and implementing standards, tools and processes to ensure good quality, on-time delivery, optimal costs, and sustainability.

Your responsibilities

  • Leading by example by demonstrating HSE best practices and business ethics in day-to-day operations
  • Implementing and managing proactive lifecycle management of electronic components based on best practices
  • Owning regional approved parts list in compliance with global orientations and priorities
  • Monitoring and feeding market intelligence on electronic components to our local, regional and global teams to ensure strong bond and strategic alignment between supply chain strategies, operations sustainability and design orientation
  • Leading component qualification processes to ensure proposed components are meeting our performance expectations and specifications
  • Executing effective and transparent communication to drive cross-collaboration
  • Standardizing processes and implementing routines in line with global directives
Your background
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in electronic component technical position with similar responsibilities
  • Degree in engineering (electrical)
  • Proven track record in management of component strategies and approved parts lists
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Bilingual (French and English) both spoken and written
