The Compliance Testing Manager role provides the opportunity to work with multiple lines of business and different functional areas. In this role, the incumbent will build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships while advancing and enhancing SLF\xe2\x80\x99s compliance testing program.ABOUT THE ROLEReporting to the Director, Canada Compliance Programs & Governance (\xe2\x80\x9cthe Director\xe2\x80\x9d), the Compliance Testing Manager will be primarily responsible for the ongoing management and maintenance of the Compliance Testing Program (\xe2\x80\x9cthe Program\xe2\x80\x9d) for Sun Life Financial Canada. The role works closely with Business Unit Compliance Officers (BUCO) and their teams, Enterprise Compliance, Operational Risk, and other Control Functions.Specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for performing compliance tests for regulatory requirements and be able to provide reasonable and informed recommendations to address findings.What will you do?Develop Annual Compliance Test Plans and schedules for each of the Canadian Business Units based on regulatory risk and in collaboration with key stakeholdersDesign and execute effective test procedures by reviewing and assessing regulatory requirements, policies and procedures, key control processes and documenting work papersCommunicate with stakeholders throughout the review process, including obtaining information necessary to complete the testing, and escalate engagements as required to managementIdentify compliance issues and develop recommendations to inform business action plansWrite clear and concise compliance testing reports that document the risk, scope, findings and recommendationsReview Compliance Testing program outcomes for trends and opportunities for improvement of the program\xe2\x80\x99s effectivenessMaintain effective working relationships with compliance representatives and line managementContribute to several projects at any one time with different stakeholdersWhat do you need succeed?A minimum of 3-7 years of progressive Compliance Testing or Internal Audit experience that includes working knowledge of audit procedures, planning, testing and sampling methods within the financial services/insurance sectorUndergraduate degree in Business, Accounting or FinanceA recognized professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA/CA, CIA, CPA/CMA, or CPA/CGA)Excellent knowledge of risks, controls and testing methodologyAn ability to gather, analyze and evaluate facts and to prepare and present concise findingsAbility to understand and interpret legislation and regulations into business impacts, compliance elements and regulatory risksKnowledge of regulatory requirements and securities laws applicable to financial institutionsPreferred Skills:Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skillsAbility to work independently as well as in a team and manage multiple priorities and timelinesAbility to operate in, and adapt to, a dynamic environment while learning new processes/tools quickly and efficientlyExcellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skillsAbility to prioritize responsibilities, and complete deliverables and tasks in a deadline-focused environmentWhat\'s in it for you?The opportunity to move along a variety of career paths with amazing networking potentialFlexible Benefits from the day you join to meet the needs of you and your familyWe\xe2\x80\x99re committed to creating an inclusive and respectful environment.
