Position Overview

You understand the importance of delivering reliable energy to customers and utilize your extensive technical expertise with electric utility systems to manage the integrity and resiliency of electric infrastructure. You're meticulous in assessing current protocols and procedures to ensure systems remain compliant, and you use your collaborative nature to build effective strategies that meet the needs of the business. We need your skills and know-how in our Compliance Technical Supervisor role.

In this position, you'll supervise the technical management, execution and monitoring of mandatory reliability standards (MRS) requirements and measurements to team members, field and management personnel, focusing on compliance status, risks and issues.

In year 1, you will:

  • Develop a working understanding of the existing Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Compliance Program.
  • Establish an understanding of North American Electric Reliability Corporation CIP Standards and how they apply to the current MRS infrastructure.
  • Foster trusting working relationships with your compliance colleagues and with external groups and organizations.
In year 2, you will:
  • Continue to hone knowledge of the MRS infrastructure and CIP Compliance Program.
  • Apply knowledge of MRS standards and our infrastructure to establish a continuous improvement roadmap.
  • Build upon relationships between internal and external compliance staff and departmental units and integrate teams into executing your roadmap and strategies.
What it takes:
  • A post-secondary degree with a preference in engineering, computer science, or information systems, plus five to seven years of electric utility experience in electric system operations, project management, and information systems or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • A demonstrated working knowledge of network infrastructure, virtualization, and server/workstation administration.
  • Great analytical skills to interpret information, as well as make sound judgments and difficult decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills to influence and work effectively with multiple business units within a diverse organization.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills to engage with partners effectively.
