:

We are currently seeking a Compliance Officer, Credit Risk to join our team.

The Compliance Officer, Credit Risk applies the principles of service excellence and contributes to a continuous and comprehensive security and compliance program for lending administration; ensures a compliance framework is maintained within regulatory requirements; develops, implements and maintains with guidance from the leader of Credit Risk, internal controls and systems and works proactively to identify, escalate and resolve non-compliance issues. This role also provides additional support to the Lending Administration team as required.

Here\'s what would be included as a part of your typical day * Pre-Funding Check: Prior to any retail or commercial advances for new money, confirms and verifies all terms, conditions and security outlined in the approved application are in order before authorizing the deal to be funded. Ensures applicable documents are saved to the digital file room, the member folder or the loan application. Any outstanding items or discrepancies must be either resolved or approved by Credit Office before proceeding with the loan advance.

  • Audit: Upon receipt of the Solicitors Final report, acknowledges receipt in WB, sign off and confirm security documentation is in order. Address security deficiencies which will be brought to the attention of the Legal Professional for resolution, creates follow up task, and ensures all documentation is uploaded to the applicable digital filing solution.
  • Compliance Tasks: Assists with continuous review of GL reconciliation, annual, semi-annual and monthly compliance tasks as required by operational channels such as Risk, Finance and CLA. Follows up on the completion of all action items recommended to rectify deficiencies identified. Assists in providing compliance summary on a monthly basis or as required.
  • Out of Order Reporting: Responsible for managing the Out of Order report, ensuring risks are monitored and mitigated. Assesses overall credit risk to ensure non-compliant branches and accounts are actioned in an effective and timely manner. Provides oversight on contents of the report to ensure that what we are reporting has associated risk and is escalated to senior management promptly.
  • Training, Continuous Education & Communication: Assists as needed with educating lending staff, and others on compliance processes and procedures and any changes to compliance requirements. Assists as needed with the development and implementation of training plans, to ensure staff have the tools required. Also acts as a liaison with the various risk and compliance channels, regional operation leaders and sales managers.
  • Conduct: Always maintain a professional standard of conduct while promoting a positive image of the organization.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; diploma preferred
  • 3 years progressively responsible experience in a related field (2 years being in compliance and credit) required
  • Excellent attention to detail and demonstrates confidence
  • Ability to manage difficult conversations in a professional and constructive manner
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Solid time management skills; demonstrated ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proactive in self-development and continuous learning to achieve required knowledge for the job
  • Applied knowledge of internal controls, risk management and risk-based auditing concepts, techniques & practices
  • Demonstrated business acumen, ideally within the financial services context
  • Proficient in MS Office products, including Word and Excel
  • Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
