Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Paralegal and HR Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing CVOR (Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration), handling driver tickets, addressing company legal issues, dealing with the Repair and Storage Liens Act, and overseeing human resources functions. This role is crucial in ensuring our company operates within the legal frameworks, maintains excellent compliance records, and fosters a positive work environment for our employees.

Key Responsibilities:

? CVOR Management: Oversee and manage all aspects of the CVOR system, including

registration, compliance, and record-keeping.

? Driver Tickets: Handle and resolve all driver tickets and related legal issues, ensuring

timely and effective resolution.

? Company Legal Issues: Assist with a wide range of legal matters affecting the company,

providing support and advice to management.

? Repair and Storage Liens Act: Manage all legal aspects related to the Repair and

Storage Liens Act, including documentation, compliance, and dispute resolution.

? Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date legal records,

documents, and files.

? Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company complies with all relevant laws and

regulations, including transportation and towing regulations.

? Liaison with Legal Professionals: Work closely with external legal counsel and other

legal professionals as necessary.

? Human Resources Management:

o Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees.

o Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.

o Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.

o Administer employee benefits and payroll.

o Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.

o Promote a positive and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications:

? Education: Diploma or degree in Paralegal Studies, Human Resources, or a related field.

? Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in the

transportation or towing industry, and at least 2 years of experience in human resources

management.

? Knowledge: In-depth understanding of CVOR, driver tickets, company legal issues, the

Repair and Storage Liens Act, and HR best practices.

? Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency

in legal research, documentation, and HR management.

? Certifications: Paralegal license in Ontario is required; HR certification (CHRP, CHRL)

is an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $43,500.45-$60,370.97 per year
