Job Description


We are looking for a Competency Advisor for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.Hybrid schedule, at least 4 days in the office. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role.Role Description
As a Competency Advisor, you will play a crucial role in the management and technical support of the organization\'s Competency Management System (CMS) and employee development. Reporting to the Manager of Competency Management, your responsibilities will span both technical and business aspects.Responsibilities

  • CMS Development: Collaborate with the SAP S/4HANA Success Factors Project team to develop and enhance the organization\'s competency management system.
  • Operational Support: Provide day-to-day technical support to the Competency Management team, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Needs Assessment: Evaluate organizational competency requirements and recommend CMS enhancements aligned with the organization\'s needs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including employees, leaders, and vendors, to ensure effective support for client groups and certify employees receive the learning required to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert for Competency Management, troubleshooting issues, and addressing client inquiries.
  • CMS: Determine CMS build activities (Success Factors). Test and implement CMS activities and provide end-user support.
  • Data Integrity: Maintain data integrity across Leadership & Employee Development.
  • Custom Reporting: Generate custom reports from the CMS as necessary.
  • Standards Adherence: Ensure compliance with Competency Management standards and governance.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Learning and Development, or a related field of study.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in competency management administration and ownership.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated experience in competency management including program build, competency-based assessments, user administration, data requirements, and issue resolution.
  • Experience supporting Success Factors and competencies considered an asset.
  • Oil and Gas (or related) industry experience (1-2 years) an asset.
