We are looking to hire a Compensation and HRIS Program Manager for a global manufacturing client located in the East End of Toronto. As the Compensation and HRIS Program Manager will manage compensation and benefits programs, job architecture, and HR systems globally, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, competitive market practices, and compliance with regulations, to drive organizational performance, employee satisfaction, and long-term profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Leads global Total Rewards strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, compliance, and market competitiveness.
- Collaborates with senior leadership and key stakeholders to design and implement compensation and benefits programs.
- Oversees annual merit increase processes for shop floor, office, and executive employees.
- Develops and manages compensation structures, including merit, variable pay, and sales incentives.
- Conducts compensation benchmarking and market analysis to maintain competitive pay practices.
- Ensures timely, accurate processing of compensation adjustments with payroll and compliance oversight.
- Develops communication plans to ensure transparency around merit and incentive programs.
- Leads global job analysis and maintains standardized job descriptions.
- Establishes job evaluation, banding, and grading frameworks to support career progression and internal equity.
- Ensures compliance with pay equity legislation, particularly in key jurisdictions like Canada and the UK, and globally.
- Partners with regional HRBPs and legal teams to ensure global consistency and local compliance.
- Supports regional teams in administering employee benefits in compliance with local laws.
- Engages with external consultants to evaluate and negotiate competitive benefits offerings.
- Manages vendor relationships, oversees global benefits benchmarking and contract negotiations.
- Develops and delivers employee communications and training materials related to benefits.
- Leads "train-the-trainer" sessions to equip regional HR teams with necessary knowledge and tools.
- Manages and optimizes HR systems (e.g., BambooHR) to support compensation, benefits, and payroll integration.
- Ensures proper system integration with IT and payroll platforms for efficient data flow.
- Leads process automation initiatives for tasks such as merit calculations and incentive payouts.
- Oversees HR reporting and analytics to support executive decision-making.
- Ensures secure storage and privacy compliance of compensation and benefits data.
- Maintains historical compensation records and benchmarking documentation.
- Delivers data-driven insights and analytics to inform compensation strategies.
- Develops and maintains employee handbooks and policy documentation related to total rewards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
- Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or a Master's in Human Resources Management an asset.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in broadbased compensation or total rewards
- 3+ years of experience implementing end-to-end compensation cycles (at least 3 cycles).
- 2+ years of experience with HR systems management, preferably BambooHR or other large HRIS (Human Resources Information System).
- Proven experience in managing key stakeholders and interfacing with senior leadership (e.g., CHRO, CEO, CFO).
- Certification in Job Analysis or Evaluation processes is required.
- CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional), CPHR (Chartered Professional in Human Resources) or any related designation is a plus.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification is a plus.
- Previous experience with HRIS and/or payroll system implementation/integration is highly desired.
- Strong presentation, analytical, and quantitative skills.
- Project management expertise, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Knowledge of designing incentive plans and compensation structures.
- Familiarity with local data compliance, data privacy laws, and regional labor and pay regulations.
- In-depth understanding of compliance laws affecting HR policies, processes, and systems.
- Exposure to local regulations (e.g., pay equity) and global markets preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge on Power BI and familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., R, Python).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation abilities and the capacity to engage and influence senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Adept at problem-solving and conflict management, simplifying complex issues, and providing actionable recommendations.
- Highly detail-oriented with a strategic mindset, capable of aligning organizational objectives with Total Rewards programs.
