The Community Worker supports vulnerable adults--particularly those with mental and/or physical challenges and limited social networks. This position encompasses
two primary areas of responsibility

Key Responsibilities
1. Matching & Community Support Responsibilities
Coordinate the matching process by assessing proteges referred from various sources and pairing them with compatible volunteers.
Conduct regular follow-ups with both proteges and volunteers to ensure match success and address any emerging needs or concerns.
Maintain ongoing communication with each protege's support network--such as family members or professionals--to stay informed and ensure cohesive support.
Participate in volunteer recruitment activities and assist in screening and onboarding new volunteers.
Keep all records and reports updated in the database and ensure accurate documentation of client and volunteer interactions.
Organize and participate in the monthly Volunteer Support Group to provide ongoing guidance and training opportunities.

2. Tax Program & Tax Clinic Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee the operation of the tax clinic, including scheduling, logistics, and ensuring compliance with CRA CVITP guidelines.
Recruit, train, and support volunteers preparing tax returns.
Screen clients for eligibility, manage intake, and provide basic assistance with tax documents and benefits.
Maintain statistics, records, and reporting for the tax program.
Conduct outreach to promote the tax clinic and collaborate with community partners.
Perform additional tasks related to the tax program as required; responsibilities are
not limited
to the above.
3. Organizational & Community Engagement Responsibilities
Attend weekly and monthly team meetings to support coordination, communication, and program planning.
Participate in organizational events such as the Annual General Meeting, fundraising activities, and the annual art exhibition.
Represent the organization at community events--both in-person and virtual--including kiosks, information tables, and outreach sessions.
Support the promotion of WICA's programs and services during community engagement activities.

Qualifications
College or university degree in social sciences (e.g., social work, gerontology, sociology, recreation, special education)
Bilingual (English & French); third language an asset
Experience in intervention, crisis management, and community services
Strong research and analytical skills
Valid driver's license and access to a car
Working Conditions
Hybrid work structure: remote, office, and community-based activities
Flexible schedule with occasional evenings/weekends
Must be able to commute/relocate to Pointe-Claire
