Program Overview:

Community Living Victoria (CLV) is a non-profit organization that has supported adults and children with intellectual disabilities in their home, and in the community for more than 69 years. Currently we are looking for employees who hold a class 4 or 5 BC driver's license

CLV is currently hiring for both casual, temporary, and permanent positions for days and, evenings in our community settings the Victoria and Saanich area. We do have some positions available in addition to casual shifts.

Only those applicants who have been shortlisted will be contacted and scheduled for an interview.

Shifts:

CLV is a 24 hour a day business. We operate seventeen Community Homes with over day, evening or night shifts. We additionally operate day programs which offer day shifts from Monday through Friday.

We ask that applicants be available for at least three shifts weekly. Shifts run from 4-8 hours in length.

Job Duties:

1. Participates in the assessment, goal setting and program planning for individuals. Documents, implements and provides input into the evaluation of the program.

2. Assist individuals with activities of daily living such as feeding, lifts, transfers, hygiene, grooming and toileting. This may include the transfer of function duties such as gastrostomy feeding, tracheotomy management, suction and bowel management.

3. Participates in various client-focused activities in accordance with care plans.

5. Recognizes, analyzes and deals with potential emergency situations such as consumers' aggressive behavior to ensure no harm comes to the client and/o the public. Reports problems to supervisor/manager

6. Administers medication to clients in accordance with established policy.

7. Assists with case management by identifying potential problems and reporting any difficulties

8. Provides emotional support and feedback to individuals and their families.

9. Transports and assists consumers to appointments, shopping or leisure activities (company provided vehicle)

10. Performs home maintenance and housekeeping duties such as laundry, sweeping, mopping floors, mowing lawns, inventory, shopping, cleaning equipment and food services.

11. Maintains reports.

12. Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

3. Combination of education, training and experience in a directly related field

4. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

5. Ability to teach

6. Ability to interact effectively with individuals

7. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position

8. A valid BC Class 5 or higher driver's license.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $25.95-$29.76 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
