Job Description
Abilities Community Services has a number of positions for a skilled Community Support Worker supporting individuals with Autism in their home in Sooke.
Our Residential positions operate on the following 12 hour rotation schedule: Overnight positions starting at 7pm to 7am, day position starting 7am to 7pm.
Responsibility of the position includes, but is not limited to
:Supporting adults with Autism Work on goals contained in Person Centred Plans Take part in planning options for participants Use augmented communication with person supported De-escalation Food and meal preparation Household chores Medication administration Personal care Any other tasks as may be necessary Must work well in a team environment Must be willing to work rotation schedule and some weekends
Qualifications:
Current First Aid/CPR Level C Food Safe Live in/can commute to Sooke, BC is essential A clean criminal reference check Medical clearance including a recent negative TB test Non Violent Intervention Training CSW diploma or relevant work experience BC Class 5 drivers license
Compensation:
This position is in an union environment. Wage will be determined by the number of years/hours that you have worked under the Community Living Services Collective Agreement Job Type: Permanent
