Community Support Worker - Casual and Part-Time Opportunities
We are seeking compassionate Community Support Workers to assist adults with developmental disabilities/PSI in community activities, skill-building, and social inclusion.
Part-Time Position Details
12 hours per week
, with the possibility of increasing up to
18 hours/week
.
Current schedule:
Mondays and Tuesdays, 9:00am-6:00pm
.
This particular position supports a young lady who enjoys community outings, visiting pets/animal-friendly locations, shopping centers, coffee shops, watching movies, art and craft activities, and spending time with energetic, friendly companions who share similar interests.
Casual Position Details
On-call
, flexible hours depending on your availability and program needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one or small group support in community settings (e.g., community outings).
Support social interactions and participation in meaningful activities.
Support the individual in achieving personal goals, developing life skills, and encouraging participation in community activities based on her preferences.
Promote independence and confidence in public environments.
Remind the individual to take their medication, if applicable.
Ensure safety and dignity in all support interactions.
Maintain respectful and professional communication with individuals, families, and team members.
Write daily reports in the team communication app.
Participate in team meetings, provide updates, and contribute to discussions regarding the individual as needed.
Complete progress notes and documentation as required.
Skills & Requirements
Experience and/or education supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, anxiety, or PSI eligibility (e.g., ASD or FASD).
Valid Driver's License and reliable car.
Current First Aid/CPR Certificate.
Food Safe Certificate, if required by the program.
Clear Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable sector).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong observation and report writing skills.
Mandt or NCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) training is an asset.

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
