Community Support Worker - Casual and Part-Time Opportunities
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Community Support Workers to join our team. Support Workers will assist adults with developmental disabilities and/or those supported under the Personal Supports Initiative (PSI) in community-based activities, skill-building, and social inclusion.
We are currently hiring for both part-time (12-20 hours/week) and casual (on-call, flexible) positions. This is a meaningful opportunity to grow your experience while helping individuals engage in the community and achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or small group support in community settings (e.g., parks, libraries, recreation centres)
Support social interactions and participation in meaningful activities
Assist individuals in working toward personal goals and life skills
Promote independence and confidence in public environments
Assist with or supervise personal hygiene, if applicable
Administer or assist with medication, if applicable and as directed
Ensure safety and dignity in all support interactions
Maintain respectful and professional communication with individuals, families, and team members
Complete progress notes and documentation as required
Skills & Requirements:
Experience and/or education supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or PSI eligibility (e.g., ASD or FASD)
Valid Driver's License and reliable car
Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
Food Safe Certificate, if required by the program
Clear Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable sector)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong observation and report writing skills
Mandt or NCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) training is an asset
