Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide essential care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private residences. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities. This role involves supporting daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence among clients.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status. Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary to ensure client safety. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks. Support clients with dementia care by providing structured routines and engaging activities. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans tailored to individual needs. Document client progress and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Requirements

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care is preferred. Knowledge of hospice care practices is beneficial. Experience working with people with disabilities is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in caregiving. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs. Familiarity with medication administration protocols is an advantage. Certification in caregiving or related fields is desirable but not mandatory.
