Casual Community Support Worker

working at our staffed homes in Ladner, North Delta, Surrey and Tsawwassen.

We are looking for evening and weekend availability for this position.

The starting salary is $25.95 per hour plus 10.6% in lieu of benefits. This position requires union membership.

About the Opportunity

As a Community Support Worker, you will work as scheduled at multiple staffed homes. You will be actively engaging supported individuals to live a fulfilling and independent life. You are a motivated and personable individual with a passion to deliver person-centered supports. This means you could be helping an individual to discover more of their community, learn new life-skills such as cooking, physical fitness activities, art classes, or seeking employment. You assist with their physical, social, emotional, educational and recreational needs. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Following an individual care plan, Developing monthly plans and facilitating activities based on client's interests, Documenting activities and observations in the client's file and communication log, Physically assist individuals with activities such as swimming and walking, and

Must be physically healthy to aid in lifting and transferring of persons served and be able to provide personal care including toileting, bathing and feeding

Qualifications

Certificate/degree/diploma in a field related to Human Sciences, or a combination of education and experience, Practical experience working with developmental and physical disabilities, Class 5 Driver's License (and ability to obtain Class 4 within probationary period) FOODSAFE Level 1 Emergency First Aid & CPR
