About the Role:



You will be working with a team of professionals in our Community Access program to support a variety of individuals with disabilities, some of who may have complex behaviors and needs. This team is fast paced and there will be a need to adapt to changing plans and an ability to adjust to situations as they arise. You can also expect most days to be attending, participating, or engaging in different activities with the individuals you support. You will often be in the community, spending a lot of time outdoors and driving to meet individuals, or picking them up or dropping them off may take you throughout the city. You will be working to support the clients life skills and following their goals. Individuals you support may have developmental delays, Addiction, Autism, ADHD, Borderline Personality Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Schizophrenia, or other Mental Health conditions or developmental delays.



Daily responsibilities may and will include any of the following and will vary depending on the individual being supported each day...



Provide medical, technological, environmental, emotional, physical, and behavioural support Attend medical/legal appointments with the Individuals Administer daily documentation, medication of the Individual, and key worker duties Assist Individuals in their daily chores and activities within the community or in the group home Support safety and cleanliness of the Individual's living space Complete tasks such fire drills//hazard assessments Communicate with OPG/Guardians/Family Member Collaborate, advocate & research for the support Individual if necessary, such as hospitals if required Specific support to the Individuals on an ODP (Opioid Dependency Program) or O.A.T Drive to meet Individuals, or be able to transport them to activities or appointments throughout the day Learn the behavioural support plans to better understand Individual needs and requirements. Effectively complete required incident reports

Schedule & Benefits:



This?is a Permanent 30 hours/week position. with the high possibility for an extension. The schedule will Tuesday-Friday 9:00am-3pm and Saturday 11:00am-5:00pm.The starting pay rate for this position will be $21.19 with potential of getting a raise after the annual evaluation. After three months probationary period, you will be eligible for cost-shared health and dental benefits along with 5 flex days after the three months of employment. As driving is a requirement, we reimburse the mileage at $0.50/km .All regular staff are eligible to pick up additional casual hours at any of our locations outside of their scheduled hours.



Minimum Requirements:



A Certificate/Diploma in the?Human Services or Disability sector (equivalencies will be considered) Intermediate computer skills Valid class 5 driver's license, reliable vehicle,and minimum $2,000,000 liability insuranceby time of hire One-yearrelevant experience in the?human services field?or disability sector Must be comfortable supporting individuals in a swimming pool Comfortable supporting individuals with diverse disabilities and complex diagnoses

Preferred Requirements:



Previoustraining or experience with lifts, transfers, or g-tubes Comfortable supporting individuals around animals/pets Experience working with families, community resources and building rapport with stakeholders Having experience supporting individuals with mental health illnesses, ASD, or additions would be an asset * Current trainings including First Aid/CPR, Medication Administration, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Abuse Prevention Response Protocol, Positive Behaviour Supports, etc.
