As arc programs continue to grow, we are now accepting applications for Community Support Worker and Behaviour Interventionists based out of the Penticton Office. The successful applicants will provide outreach and community support to youth and young adults with diversabilities, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). These positions involve working independently in the individuals or family\xe2\x80\x99s home, and in the community. Hours / Schedule: This is a full-time position, pending program referrals/ service demands. Applicants should be prepared to work flexible hours, which are mostly days, with some evenings and on rare occasions, weekends. If you enjoy working independently, having input in determining your own schedule and have a passion to help others, this is an ideal position for you. Responsibilities include:
Providing individualized behaviour intervention, consultation, education, recreation, counseling, and support services for referred youth and adults.
Working with family members or caregivers, to strengthen the family unit and provide support.
Providing individual and group-based services to assist clients to develop social skills, communication skills, life skills, and peer relationships.
Preferred Experience Experience supporting individuals with complex developmental behavioural conditions, including ASD, and FASD. Qualifications:
Diploma or certificate in Behaviour Intervention, or relevant Social Services or Human Services disciplines.
Candidates for this position will possess sufficient training and experience to perform all responsibilities of the job description. Candidates must possess a valid Driver\'s License and may be required to provide a sound personal vehicle for business use Successful applicants will be subject to a screening process, including a criminal record search, to confirm suitability for the position. Wage / Benefits: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour based on relevant experience and education. Upon successful completion of a probationary period, full-time employees (minimum 20-hrs per week) are eligible for a full benefit package (including dental plan, vision coverage, life insurance, extended medical coverage, long-term disability plan, and RRSP contributions). New full-time employees are eligible for 3-weeks paid vacation to start, and paid sick days as needed.
