SALARY:
$30.82 to $31.81
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the general direction of the Director of Community & Clinical Services, and the supervision of the Supervisor of Community Services, delivers high-quality support services to justice involved youth and families in their homes, schools, and the community. Safeguards the legal rights of clients and advocates for their needs; supervises field placement students as required and works with various community agencies, performing these and other duties as may be required on a flexible schedule.
EDUCATION:
University degree preferred and/or community college diploma from a recognized post- secondary institution in psychology, criminology, social work, social service work, or youth justice, and relevant experience working with this population. Two or more years of paid work experience working with youth.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Technical skills
Working knowledge of Interventions such as anger management, healthy relationships, emotional regulation, substance use programming knowledge.
Familiarity with evidence-based counselling skills and motivational interviewing techniques
High level of accountability and sensitivity for confidential information
Strong understanding of youth programming in Ontario, specifically those policies and services for justice involved youth in a community setting.
Experience with referrals and case management.
Organizational/Teamwork skills
Strong organizational skills to coordinate workload and administrative duties
Strong Teamwork skills to ensure information is shared across the team including sharing knowledge management
Communication skills
Proven verbal communication skills to liaise with internal and external parties including clients, agencies, police etc.
Strong written communication to complete reports for file/ministry, and forms
ASSET QUALIFICATION:
Bilingualism (French/English)
