Community Residential Support Workers (Casual)

Location: Dartmouth, NS
Reporting to a House Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting adults with intellectual disabilities in their day-to-day lives. Areas of support may include community access, recreation and leisure, household management, life skills, personal care, and medication administration. RRSS is a dynamic and rewarding work environment where creativity and an individualized approach are encouraged to meet the needs and goals of each person you support.

You are committed to inclusive community living, have a sound knowledge of the principles of person-directed planning, and are highly motivated with strong organizational and communication skills. You are excited to contribute to a quality team and find creative solutions to ever-changing challenges.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12. Experience in Human Service field considered an asset.
Previous work or volunteer experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities.
Commitment to social inclusion and inclusive community living.
Effective professional communication skills and an ability to liaise with key partners including families, professionals, and other agencies.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.
Strong organization and record keeping skills.
Proven ability to work effectively within a team.
Values and skills compatible with the type and level of support required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Successful applicants must be available to regularly work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekend shifts.
