St. John Council for Ontario (SJCO) is a voluntary agency dedicated to improving the health, safety and quality of life of Canadians through training and community service. We are currently seeking a confident, energetic Community Relations Coordinator to join our Toronto Branch.Essential Duties:

• Provide support to community services programs in the areas of volunteer recruitment, screening, training and recognition
• Provide administrative support to community service programs where required including event management and volunteer records
• Develop and coordinate special events, public relations and the marketing of community service units and volunteer opportunities
• Assist with public and corporate displays to educate and inform about St. John Ambulance
• Provide direction and support to fundraising and community relations initiatives
• In collaboration with all stakeholders, purchase required resources for Community service units
• All other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:

• Post-secondary education in related discipline (Volunteer Management, Office Administration, Marketing, Public Relations)

• Experience with Microsoft Office (D365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
• Demonstrated strong communication skills both oral and written
• University or College degree or equivalent post-secondary education or equivalent education and/or work experience preferred
